I decided that since my stomach consistently growled when taking only one pill, I would try taking two first thing in the morning. Instructions on the bottle say take 1-2 in the morning and 1-2 in the afternoon, if you wanted. So I took two with a 20 oz glass of water at 7:45 a.m. Half an hour later, while I was getting ready for work, I got really light headed, saw black spots, felt overly hot, and thought I was going to pass out. I immediately drank a glass of milk and ate a slice of bread and sat down for five minutes. My heart was pounding. I felt horrible all morning--my heart was still pounding, and while I did not feel jittery or hungry, I did feel spacey and strangely disconnected. I drank glass after glass of water, hoping to dilute it or flush it out of my system or something. Didn't work. I ate a breakfast bar at 10:30 like normal. I wasn't hungry, but I figured eating would make me feel less cruddy. Ate an egg salad sandwich at 12:30, and a couple of almonds at 4. I had dinner at 6:30, and still felt slightly spacey. Lesson learned: Maile does not do well on two Healthé Trim.
I watched the YouTube videos linked in the FAQs on the website, and they didn't really tell me anything new. I think tomorrow I am not going to take Healthé Trim. See how I feel, and then start taking one again, possibly. I have yet to go to the gym while taking Healthé Trim. I had my alarm set to get up and go this morning, however I woke up at 3:30 a.m. with an insanely throbbing tension headache. I got up and took two Aleve and they finally kicked in around 4:30, so I felt I deserved an extra hour of sleep. If I don't feel cruddy in the morning, I will go to the gym tomorrow.

8/2/10--Day 3
I’m off on Mondays, so I slept late. Woke up at 10. Not hungry, but I wanted waffles and bacon for brunch. Instead, I had Healthé Trim and a large glass of water (Apparently diet is much like life; what you want and what you get tend to be two different things. Wondering if “makes you philosophical” is a side effect of Healthé Trim--will check the label.). Weighed myself, and I weighed a pound less than I did yesterday, but I can’t necessarily attribute that to the pills.
Didn’t notice a jittery feeling yesterday or today, but I was also off and not in my work, i.e. stressful, environment. Haven’t noticed any extra energy. 11 a.m. and my stomach started growling. Noon and I was feeling a little spacey. 1:00 and I put a spinach and artichoke pizza in the oven. Maybe I should take two pills instead of one. When the pizza finally was done I overcompensated. Instead of eating one slice, like I normally would, I ate two because I was so ravenously hungry. Ate an egg salad sandwich at 5:30, and two chocolate chip cookies that I made. That was it.
There was a DVD that came with the box; I watched it, and it was nothing but an intro to ten contestants for a radio contest. I guess I need to go their website and see if I can find any info there. I've looked it over once, and it wasn't the most helpful website I've visited.

8/1/10--Day 2
Woke up around 8:15. Was not hungry. Took Healthé Trim around 8:30 on an empty stomach. Did not like drinking 20 oz water first thing in the morning. Stomach started growling at 9 a.m. while I was working on starting this blog. Felt a mad burst of energy at 10 (tummy still growling) but that had nothing to do with Healthé trim and everything to do with the fact that I had half an hour to get ready to go kidsit. While I was scrambling around in a mad dash, I received a text saying I was not required to kidsit after all. I drove to my friend’s house, staring at the clock, and counting down the time until 11:30, when I would be able to eat.
About noon my stomach finally decided to give up on getting anything to eat and finally stopped growling. Didn’t get my first bite of food til around 1:30--went for sushi. I had spring rolls and a tuna avocado roll, and about two glasses of water. Wandered around the Gulfport outlets, found a pair of comfy, cute, and affordable sandals (score!) and thought I was hungry. Realized I was just thirsty as hell, so I stopped and got a Route 44 grape slush from Sonic. Managed to get down about half of it. Wasn’t particularly hungry, so I ate a little bit around 5:30. Stomach started growling for real at 8:00. Ate a bowl of cereal. Went to bed at midnight.

7/31/10--Day 1
Woke up at 7 a.m. (no gym today; I rarely go on Saturdays. Okay, change "rarely" to "never" and that's more of the truth.) My stomach was growling a little, but I ignored it. Instructions say to take 1-2 pills first thing in the morning with 2-3 glasses of water. I figured I'll start with one and work my way up. But I assumed this was like a substitute for breakfast, so I got ready for work and took it on the way to work around 8:30 a.m. My poor, empty stomach was unhappy as its demands for food went ignored. Until 10:30 a.m. I couldn't handle being hungry any more. So I opened my desk drawer and pulled out my battered, in-case-of-emergency, slightly squished South Beach meal replacement bar and wolfed that down. (As a side note, I have had South Beach bars that taste pretty decent, but the caramel peanut is not one of them. It tastes gross, and there is some kind of cloying, sticky sweetness that rests in my throat after eating one. That's why it was relegated to my in-case-of-emergency bar.)
At this point, I noticed I was a little shaky. I don't know if it was from the Healthé Trim or from going 12 hours without eating. I wouldn't exactly call it jittery, but I know I didn't feel normal. Eventually lunch happened, and after running a few errands, I ended up in the Wendy's drive through. I ordered chicken nuggets and a side caesar salad and took them back to work to eat, around 1:30, and that filled me up. Around 2:30 I notice that my tummy was unusually gurgly. I don't know if it was from my lunch or the Healthé Trim. At around 4:30 I felt what I think were faint hunger pangs. I ate a small apple with peanut butter. At 6 p.m., when I should have left work (I had to stay til 6:20) I grabbed my baby carrots out of the fridge and started snacking out of boredom. I ate a few more baby carrots on the way home, bringing my total up to an even dozen. At home, I ate a little leftover rice and one piece of adobo, and about an hour and a half later I ate a piece of toast with cream cheese and I also took a Healthé Shield (a "multi-mineral berry complex"; you're supposed to take two with your evening meal). I couldn't tell any difference in my appetite with the Healthé Trim, but I figured that's because I didn't take it first thing when I woke up. Tomorrow I will take it properly and see what happens.

A Little Background
I'm going to Dragon*Con this year, and I was desperately trying to find sandals that are comfortable. I call up my sister to meet me at lunch, so she can help me decide if the sandals I'm looking at are too grandmotherly for a thirty-something-year-old to wear. Sure, she says, but I have a webinar, and I'll meet you when I'm done. When we finally meet up, she tells me about this webinar, which was for Healthé Trim. For medical reasons, she can't take it, and because I have nothing to lose (besides 10 pounds, and boy, doesn't that make me sound like some kind of infomercial) I tell her, "I'll take it!" She emails me some links, and I look them over. Looks like any typical weight loss study--some people lost a lot of weight, some people lost a little weight, and of course, it works best combined with a healthy diet and exercise. Well, I eat fairly healthy and I exercise 2-3 times a week. This stuff is all natural, so I'm not really scared of it, but you're supposed to take it first thing in the morning with 2-3 glasses of water and then not eat for three hours. I don't know if that's gonna jive on the mornings I get up and go to the gym, but we'll try it and see. So I decided to start a blog to chronicle my Healthé Trim journey.
Here are the basics of my diet/exercise routine:
1. I try to get to the gym at least three days a week. I try to give myself an hour to work out, but it usually ends up being half an hour, because I get lazy and I don't like to pack my lunch or clothes the night before. Lately I have been using the stationary bike, but I plan on switching up with the treadmill.
2. I eat six times a day. Breakfast is at 7 a.m. or 8 a.m., depending on whether or not I go to the gym. Second breakfast (i.e. mid-morning snack) is around 10:30-11 a.m., but I have been skipping that for about a month. Lunch is anywhere between 12-1. I have a snack around 3:30-4, and then dinner around 6:30-7.
3. Breakfast is usually a piece of toast & peanut butter, banana, & milk; a protein bar or shake; or cereal & milk--whatever I can eat in the car. Snacks usually consist of a handful of almonds; a small apple & peanut butter; baby carrots & ranch; or stick of cheese & some pretzels. Lunch is usually a spinach salad or a turkey sandwich and some fruit. Dinner is more random. I drink 8-10 glasses of water a day. I might drink one diet soda on the weekend. Sometimes in restaurants I will order sweet tea. I also have what I call Fat Kid Friday, where I eat out, whether it be fast food, take out, or in a restaurant.
